Angels Camp Leaders Back in Session Tonight
Angels Camp, CA...The Angels Camp City Council is back in session tonight for their first meeting of 2008. The New Angels Camp Police Chief, Dale Mendenhall took his Official Oath. On the planning front...The Townhouses at Angel Oaks moved forward. The project received a mitigated negative declaration, zoning changes and a tentative tract map and development plan. It looks like that project has a green light....
There was also an approval of some zoning changes to some parcels in Greenhorn Creek.
There was some discussion and a motion passed to send a letter to Subaru of America expressing the City's regret that they have decided to pull the last remaining new car dealership from the city of Angels and also for Calaveras County.
The Council sadly accepted the resignation of Councilman Norm Price and to open up the process to select his replacement. The City Council will appoint his replacement on February 5. So if you would like to be an Angels Camp City Councilman now is your chance. Just get your resumes to Mary Kelly at the City Offices in Angels Camp.
The City is also still seeking a planning commissioner to replace Mr. Scott who has moved outside the city limits. The Council received permission to advertise for the City Council opening and also for the Planning position. His replacement will be appointed on February 19.
They will also be having a meeting tomorrow night to get feedback from the community on the Hwy 49 and Hwy 4 intersection.
